Makeup Revolution: Halloween Collection 2017

Anyone who knows me will know I am obsessed with Halloween. I always end up baking Halloween treats, binge-watching spooky films and taking part in as many Halloween themed activities as I can. When I found out that Makeup Revolution was bringing out a dedicated Halloween makeup range, I had to get my hands on it.

Originally I had planned on buying all of the range, but after realising I wouldn’t be using it all, I decided to pick up a few key products that caught my eye…

GHOST LIGHTS HIGHLIGHTER

Now I’m pale, really pale. But this is even paler than me, which is great. If you’re going as a ghost or you’re going mental with the white foundation this year, this is the best highlighter to go for. It’s really pigmented and gives a nice glittery look under certain lights. I also really like that this is moulded into the shape of a skull.

DARK REIGN EYESHADOW PALETTE

One of four Halloween themed eyeshadow palettes, Dark Reign is a mixed bag of colours which will be perfect for my costume this year! I won’t tell you what I’m going as just yet, but I’m really excited to perfect the look for it!

HOLOGRAPHIC LIP KIT

Out of the products I bought from the range, I was disappointed with this. On its own, the kit isn’t that great. The purple lip liner could be more pigmented, but if you pair the gloss with a dark purple or pink colour (I paired it with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen) then it really does come across as holographic. It would be great to use in a unicorn themed makeup tutorial, but definitely be prepared to use it with other lip products.

Have you tried any products from the range? What do you think?

For some reason we didn't get the Dark Reign palette here in the states so I'm hoping I can get my hands on it at some point. I love the orange!

Oh no! They might still bring it out before the end of the month? I hope so – the orange is lovely and a great Halloween colour
