Want To Change The Vibe Of Your Home? Here’s How

Sometimes you just get that feeling where things need to change. In some cases, there is a reason behind it, and in others, it’s just that time again, and you want things to be different. It doesn’t matter why, all that matters is that you have decided you want to make this change, and in this instance, it has to do with the vibe of your home. Here are some quick and easy tips for changing up your interior vibes.

The Walls

The first thing that you should be thinking about is the walls. Do you currently have a specific pattern or colour that you picked out? That’s probably the case, and it’s time to change it. A lot of people underestimate how important a coat of paint or wallpaper can be, but it really does have the ability to change the whole vibe of a room. For example, if you walk into a room that has boring brown walls, what are you likely to feel? Down, sad, maybe even a little depressed, which probably isn’t what you want to go for. But, if you walk into a room and you are surrounded by bright yellow everywhere, other than potentially having to give your eyes a second to adjust, you are going to get a feeling of happiness. The human brain associated certain colours with certain feelings, so it’s important that you recognise this when you’re looking to change things up a bit.

Consider what kind of vibe you want, and then you can choose a colour or pattern to go with it. Now, you don’t have to go with what is usually thought. For example, yellow might not make you feel happiness at all, and if you want to go for a happy, cheerful vibe, then choose something that brings this out in you. After all, this is your home so it has to be how you want it.

What About Plants?

The next thing that you want to consider is plants. Some people don’t like having plants in their home for various reasons, but if you have no problem with this, then they can really add something different. If you’re not used to having greens in your home right now, then it might take a little getting used to, but for example, adding a cactus to your kitchen can completely change it. However, if you believe in Feng Shui, then cacti actually give off bad energy, and they’re not something you want in your home.

You can do your own research and see what kind of things tend to be viewed positively, and what others think brings negative energy. Make this choice for yourself, the same as the colour because it’s up to you how you feel around your own home.

Move Your Items

You should also think about where you have the items you own. Do you like the way that you have your home arranged? Have you currently got the layout that you want? If not, it’s time to get things moving. Change around the way things are positioned, even move things from one room to another if you want to. However, if you find that there are too many items and you don’t like the clutter anymore, then you might want to look into storage units so that you have somewhere to store the overflow. This means that you don’t have to get rid of anything if you don’t want to, but they simply aren’t in the way in your home anymore.

You will still have access to everything if you decide to change your mind at a later date. Not having to sort things into a buy and sell pile could also make these changes easier on you, so it’s certainly something that you should be considering.

Replace What Doesn’t Make You Happy

If you’re walking around your home and there are certain items that make you feel unhappy, then they’ve got to go. They are going to be altering the entire vibe of your home and making it feel differently to how you want. Unless you want a negative energy or vibe surrounding you or your home, which I doubt you do, then these items should be gone as soon as possible. When you’re in your home, you should feel happy, safe, secure and comfortable rather than sad. It could be the case that certain items hold bad memories, or there is another reason attached to them that they just make you feel unhappy. It doesn’t matter.

You can always replace these items, so it’s not like it’s the end of the world. For example, let’s say there was a certain china set in your home that you didn’t like looking at for whatever reason, there are more that you can purchase. You don’t have to go without an item simply because you don’t want the one you currently have. If you’re going to get rid of your vacuum, you won’t simply not have one, you’ll just buy something new. The same goes for everything else.

Don’t Be Afraid

Being afraid of the changing vibe isn’t going to help anything. Once you’ve made the decision for change, you’ve got to stick by it, or you won’t like doing anything that has to be done to alter how your home feels. It can be a difficult process, and it can sometimes be emotional, but you’ve got to stand strong here. Make these changes with happiness in your heart, knowing that your home is going to go back to feeling better than ever, as this is what you should be focusing on at this time.
